I was very excited when I’ve found, that my both Grand Ma’s are going to celebrate their B-days at Samovar.
I already knew that we will have two unforgettable events. I must tell you that when I am there, it doesn’t feel like a restaurant, it is more like a home with people who treat you as a family.
Irina and Alex (owners) surrounded us with a lot attention and fed us so well, that I could not breathe well. Like always we were having very delicious, home made food. Ten’s of appetizer and four main course made me feel very heavy at the end of the evening, so I’ve asked to take dessert “to go”
Next time you there please ask for famous Samarkand Pilov! You won’t regret it, guaranteed!!! Very talented musicians Alex and Yana pleasantly surprised all guest with a variety of very popular oldies and modern music. My daughter, who loves to dance, fall asleep in the car after all night dancing. Everybody were having fun that night, and I can say only positive things about Samovar. The food here at Samovar is phenomenal, and so is the service.
When I and my (Russian-speaking) companion walked in on a hot, lazy Sunday afternoon, the owner walked right up to us and offered to give us a tour of the food offerings. There was no awkwardness at all in his approach– he was jovial and charming.
He patiently took us through the refrigerated isles to talk about the frozen pelmeni, vareniky, cakes, and freshly made borsch, sausages, and filled pastries. I was introduced to kvass and drank a can of it as we walked and talked.
Before long, we dined in on absolutely delicious beef-filled cabbage rolls and borsch, along with an apple turnover for me, a tea for him, and a Turkish coffee for me. They have a limited number of cafe tables there, but they serve you on real plates with real silverware.
I repeat – you simply *must* try the cabbage rolls if you’re a fan of beef, even if you think you’re not into cabbage.
There’s a staggering collection of Russian-language books and DVDs, too, on the whole right side of the store.
I was completely unfamiliar with Russian cuisine prior to my tour and tastings. An hour and a half after we first walked in, we walked out, my mind full of new knowledge and interest.
They also offer catering, rent out their banquet hall, and sell jewelry and silks and paintings on consignment.
Samovar is a community store where everyone who comes in becomes a friend, even if you are not Russian yourself.
I will be back again and again.

I visited Samovar Deli to taste their Russian food before catering a company lunch. Alex (owner) was most hospitable and helpful answering all of my questions in great detail and the catering was done impeccably well. The food is authentically Russian and delicious. I especially liked the cabbage rolls, Olivier salad (potato salad), apple/raisin/walnut strudel and Russian ice cream, although everything was good. They make most things on site and from scratch — the Borscht Soup was delicious — fresh dill and all. They also have the famous dark Russian rye bread imported directly from Moscow. Wonderful! You won’t be disappointed, especially if you are looking for genuine Russian cuisine. A quality place — clean, gourmet. Not a restaurant but a deli with 3 small tables to eat if you want to. Prices are just right! I want to take my mother here to sample their German, Polish and Hungarian cuisine — they also specialize in those!

We attended a wedding reception here and were amazed by the beautifully presented and delicious food. We are not very familiar with Russian foods and had lots of fun tasting the many courses served. The tables were covered in platters of cold appetizers when we arrived including a whole roasted duck on a tiered serving rack. Hot cheese pastries that were amazing were served next, then caviar with buttery pancakes, then little ramekins with bubbling hot cheese over vegetables and finally the main courses. By now we were full but it was so yummy we ate potatoes, sea bass and lamb!

Recently I had a chance to celebrate my Birthday there, and I can tell you with full confidence, that this place is the BEST!
Owners of “Samovar” Ira and Alex over delivered on what they had promised to me. Most delicious foods was surrounded with very warm atmosphere and extremely friendly personnel.
I was really surprised by assortment of salads and 4 main courses they served that day. I’ve been in many different restaurants, and this is the place I like the most. “Samovar” is the place where your friends and relatives will be pleasantly surprised by most delicious and very unique food!
I really like live music we had that evening. We listened very well chosen and really entertaining songs! Everybody were dancing and having fun! My daughter couldn’t stop and was dancing until late night 
I highly recommend this place, and look forward to celebrate many occasions there!!!!
